Look at the "This Day in History" window from the History channel. How many events are United States history vs world history? Either look at the some of the history websites linked from this site, or google today's date and see what you can find. What other historical events can you find that are not United States history that may be more significant? Why would the History channel ignore or not highlight these events.
hint: Wikipedia's main page has an extensive "on this day" section, compare this with the History channel information.
